What a beautiful state park! My husband was working on WV/OH this week and sent me photos of jewelweeds! I was jealous! So many wonderful eastern species we don't have here in Texas. The fox story was really cute!
I feel really lucky that in Georgia, we have access to mountain habitats like this AND Coastal Plain/sandhills habitats and species. And in Atlanta, both are close enough for a day trip (though it's a lot of driving.)
Texas is high on my nature trip wish list, though, from the pictures and writing I see online. I hope to make a big trip someday, instead of just driving through the very north of the state like I did last summer (which was still really cool.) There were new and exciting birds, tiger beetles, robber flies, plants, and odonates, all in a very short trip.
